I thank my mom (Lucille Boretz) for your warmth, independence, contagious laughs, and showing me how to give and receive love. I also owe so much to my late dad (Alvin Boretz), whose vibrant energy I still feel. Though I miss you each day, your words, “Make a contribution, Jenna” guide me on this life’s journey. You taught me how to be infinitely curious and tenacious.

Thank you, Bill, my husband and opposite, for loving me these many years. I know you enjoyed the coveted gift of solitude when I was holed up in my writing room.
