I gathered this sample of questions from the 2006 Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS)—given in the state that claims to have invented educational accountability in the 1990s under then-Governor George W. Bush. It was the governor’s experience raising test scores in Texas that, according to many sources, inspired the proposal and subsequent passage of No Child Left Behind in 2002. So are you ready?
