The nucleus of a global performance review remains the real-time interaction between the manager and the employee. The Five-Focus Performance Dialogue Model takes the SSI Model of Chapter 2 and applies it to the context of a face-to-face performance review. Skill in cross-cultural communication, as outlined in Chapter 3, is fundamental for both the manager and the employee when conducting any GPMS.
