Grip self-test
If you were taking one of my film classes I would give you this grip test the very first day we met for class after the introduction, and thank you after the session was completed.
The looks on my students faces are usually… stunned! “What the heck is this instructor/grip doing? We don’t know this stuff… yet!”

It’s a simple process, really. The students take my test using a RED pen for the answers. Then we put the test aside until the course is finished. We now take the same test using a GREEN pen for the answers. Now the student “knows” how much they have leaned.
This validates their hard work.
