Whenever you and your kids go on a hike together, visit the beach, or even just play at the park, spend some time collecting natural objects. You can gradually build up a nice collection that will inspire your creative activities—and kids love bringing the outside indoors!

Choose a home for your natural treasures (my children use an old candy jar) and ensure that everything is clean, dry, and free of bugs before storing. The wonderful thing about sourcing materials from the outside is that your collection will constantly change depending on the time of year and your location. Plus, you and your kids will enjoy the many health benefits that come from spending time outdoors, including exercise and fresh air!
