The social upheaval and devastation that the worldwide COVID-19 virus has brought about has meant painful, often financially disastrous consequences for many people and institutions. Interventions, including strict lockdowns, have had numerous impacts in many areas of working life, in profit-driven and nonprofit organizations. The transition to home offices and digitally connected work teams (using multipurpose software such as Skype, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams) became commonplace and, in some cases, even the preferred method of daily communication and workplace interaction.
