Niles Ethan, Chief Information Officer (CIO) of The Corporation, was worried. He had received a call from the FBI asking for a late afternoon meeting. Niles had worked in management long enough to know that a call from the FBI usually meant trouble, but he never expected such a profound problem. In his office sat FBI Special Agent Jones, who had requested the meeting, and Basel Watson, the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), who reported to Niles and whom he had asked to attend the meeting.
