Chapter 6. Channels, Color Space, and Bit Depth
Photoshop sees images in terms of color channels, and uses different models to group the characteristics of color and brightness. Each channel is a piece of your image grouped by a specific color, such as red, green, and blue. You can mix various concentrations of these channels to arrive at all other colors in the color space.
