Introduction
In this chapter we shall examine the role that Human Resources (HR) professionals can play in building a high performance culture. If high performance is generated by people, the people-specialist function should be uniquely well placed to act as change agent and culture builder.
In looking at HR's role in building high performance organizations, I shall draw on a range of Roffey Park research projects, including surveys and focus groups of HR Directors, CEOs and line managers (1999–2003).
