Importance of Understanding and Being Responsive to Emotions

Change affects human beings asynchronously. Staff members affected by the same transformational change can have a range of emotions including anger, anxiety, confusion, empathetic pain, entrancement, fear, and triumph. This chapter highlights possible reasons for resisting change, importance of creating a trusting environment, creating a safe space for staff to express their concerns, and business leaders as co-travelers in the emotional roller coaster.
