What are the three Idle Investor strategies going to invest in? Well, the four largest asset classes for the purposes of long-term investment are:

  1. shares (also called equities in financial literature),
  2. bonds (both government and corporate; also called fixed income),
  3. cash (and other cash-like instruments), and
  4. property (both residential and commercial).
