OVERVIEW

Material selection is directly related to product performance requirements, cost, and user needs. The selection of manufacturing processes and materials is interrelated. However, within a manufacturing process there are usually many available choices of specifically formulated materials. This chapter provides an overview of some of the manufacturing processes and materials that are important to designers.
