Alessandro Volta was a physicist who loved reading about all kinds of science and was ecspecially interested in the work being done on flammable gases. Although his main focus was electricity, he used chemistry in his research every day and his keen awareness of natural philosophy, including the study of animals, aided in him in the invention of the battery.
Alessandro Volta was born in Como, Italy, in 1745. Like most scientists of the time, he had been born into a wealthy family.
