symmetrical outfit may feature an unbal-
anced surface pattern texture or that blurs
the reflection of the shape.
Anything as basic as a tailored jacket,
though perhaps designed around a symmet-
rical vision, is inherently asymmetric when
the front overlaps for closure, however subtle
this may be. Jeans open on center front, but
the fly structure, button, and stitching are
actually sightly off to one side. A vent in the
center back of a coat may direct all of the
facing excess to one side, creating a knife
