Focusing on these four pillars can help you cut through the noise and attend to what is important to make your transition a success. This chapter introduces these four pillars and why they are important to consider in a transition. Chapter 3 introduces the four faces of leadership, and Chapter 4 examines hopes, fears, and legacy that can shape transitions. The remainder of this book, beginning in Chapter 5, looks at how to effectively manage the four pillars.
