Plan to Succeed

As the saying goes, “plans change on first contact with the enemy.” This suggests that planning is of limited value. But the military develops extensive plans to help prepare their staff for action, to rehearse, and to develop routines that help improve the odds of success. Likewise, we find executives in our Transition Labs value planning, even if it only provides them with a preliminary road map for action. It helps them prepare for action and think through critical execution activities.
