Frame, Prioritize, and Elevate
Most incoming executives undertake a listening tour of key stakeholders and staff early in their new role. These listening tours help newcomers as well as internally promoted executives assess the needs of their organizations. Based on that information, they are then able to frame and communicate priorities, shape their agendas, and manage stakeholders’ expectations. It’s also valuable to establish or reset relationships with key stakeholders who will be vital to the execution of priorities.
