One of the most common impediments to high performance is waste. Waste is essentially anything that prevents an organization from meeting its customers’ requirements. (1) This concept can also be defined as anything a customer is not willing to pay for. (1) Irrespectively of how it's defined, waste is bad and must be addressed at every turn.
