our supply of some commonly used item—like dishwash-
ing detergent—then we can easily get more. Also, since the
storage space in this house is in relatively short supply, my
preference is to even out our supply of most items by buying
only what we need.
Paul [shuffling through the cabinet under the sink]: Yes, wow, I see what
you mean. Half of your space in this cabinet is occupied by
gallons of cleaning supplies. Dishwasher detergent, liquid
dish soap, hand soap, glass cleaner.… It would take you five
years to go through all this!
