Following their arrests, Gorshkov and Ivanov were taken to the FBI office in Seattle, where the rest of the team awaited. Because Ivanov was already charged with criminal offenses in Connecticut, a Special Agent from the New Haven office took the lead in interviewing Ivanov. A Special Agent from the Santa Ana office participated as well, bringing his near-encyclopedic knowledge of the investigation to bear on Ivanov, who was, after all, the lead subject.
