It is always helpful to add a little humor to a serious situation, but pithy quotes aside, significant changes in a family member’s financial circumstances or a situation in which income and expenses have not been properly aligned is a serious matter. As we slowly come out of the Great Recession, the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression, economists and pundits are just now assessing the destructive impact of this tumultuous financial maelstrom on Americans.
