Extend Your Technique with Photoshop
As much as I like to get all of my light painting done in one take, sometimes it’s just physically impossible. Many times the ambient light in the scene is just too bright to allow time for painting several different subjects or moving around to paint from different angles. When this is the case, you can create more than one photograph and blend them together in Photoshop.
The next images (Figure 3.14) are an example of multiple shots I combined for the results I had in mind. The ambient exposure for the sky was 60 seconds at f/8 at an ISO of 400.
