Second coaching conversation
Managers have to be able to sort out ‘people problems’. In this sample conversation, Nadia has come to her manager for help. She has got a problem and it has clearly got her angry and upset. Follow the stages of the model for yourself, as the conversation progresses:
I’ve got a problem and I don’t know how to solve it, so here I am. It’s really screwing me up. I didn’t think I should come to you but I can’t think how else to get round it. Can we keep this confidential?
Yes, of course. Tell me about it.
It’s about me and Rob. He’s driving me nuts. I don’t think I can work with him at all.
