Second coaching conversation

In this example, the coach is helping Gabrielle, Ali’s team leader, to do a SWOT for Ali as team leader from the organizational perspective. She has interviewed Ali, Gary and several applicants from outside of the organization, and is seriously considering Ali as her successor. Let’s listen in on their conversation:

Gabrielle:

As you know, we’ve interviewed a few people for my job, and I’ve been very impressed with Ali. My gut reaction is to go for him, but I want to think it through and check it out, if that’s OK.

Coach:
