3A FEW GROUND RULES

We will look at the investigation process in Chapter Four. Before we do, however, it is important that you understand a few basic ground rules. They are all based on one premise: harassment is a serious issue, and any alleged incident will be investigated. The company must act not only to protect the rights of the individual, but also to protect itself against litigation; harassment is, quite simply, against the law.
