TERMINATION

Most organizations have a progressively scaled discipline process that has several phases before termination. Something like this:

•   Verbal

A first meeting to discuss issues

•   Written

A second meeting/opportunity to discuss and resolve continuing issues

•   Final

A final meeting/opportunity to discuss and resolve continuing issues

•   Discharge

 

If the employee refuses to change his or her problematic behavior, he or she is “walked” through the process.
