SPEECH RESPONSE GROUPS

To get reactions to your speech, form your own mini-audience: A speech response group. Members can be friends, coworkers, family— anyone who will take the time to read and respond honestly to your speech. It’s critical at various stages of the speechwriting process to have independent, outside reaction to your speech. Often as the author, you’ll be much too close and too invested in your work to be objective. Therefore, to get an honest assessment, you’ll need to use a test group.
