Often you may have little or no time to schedule a speechwriting response group. The next best thing is to get someone whose judgment you trust to edit the draft and sit down to discuss it with you. To get effective feedback and to minimize author defensiveness and anxiety, ask your critic to follow a simple formula: The P–Q–P System: Praise–Questions–Polish.
