USE THE LEADERSHIP KEY TO OPEN THE DOOR OF OPPORTUNITY

Ken Blanchard regards influence as the key to leadership. You can use this key to your advantage and open the door of opportunity by using the 4-P Plan. To see just what we mean, imagine that you had a great idea this morning as you sipped your coffee and munched your bagel. Your boss walks by your desk, and you seize the opportunity to share it. “Joe,” you exclaim, “got a minute? I’ve got this great idea I want to explore with you!”

What’s wrong with this picture? Nothing, the mediocre influencer would say. After all, it shows spontaneity and enthusiasm. What boss could refuse? In truth, though, there are three potential problems with this approach.
