Appendix 2: A Guide for
Book Study Groups
When I asked the companies I visited for my eld research how they
got started with Lean, many of them mentioned that they had either
organized or participated in a book study group that got together regu-
larly to discuss a reading from one of the books available about Lean
Product Development.
ese groups helped create momentum for change, by providing the par-
ticipants with some time to reect upon the new ideas they found in their
