Become an Expert by Writing Articles and Press Releases
Writing articles is a great way to get free publicity. I have written hundreds of articles relating to financial trading, and at the end of each article I write:

Normally, you won't get paid for these articles (although occasionally you may), but you will build up credibility and promote your business.
Another great way to build credibility and trust is to write a regular column for a magazine or newspaper. If you build a big enough audience, you may even end up on a TV or radio program.
In the UK, a start-up website called moneysavingexpert.com was propelled to stardom when it was featured on BBC Radio 2—a popular national radio station with millions of listeners.
The site's founder, Martin Lewis, became the moneysaving expert on a lunchtime call-in show. This promoted his website, for nothing, to millions of people. Martin recently sold his website for a cool £87 million.
Press releases are a very effective, yet often ignored, form of marketing. Writing a good press release and sending it to the right people is often the quickest and cheapest way for any business to generate publicity. You don't need a PR department to write press releases—it's quick and simple to create them yourself.
