Learn to Love the Questions
Artists often work from questions, not answers. If you read what artists say about their work, take careful note of their verb choices. They investigate, explore, interrogate, inquire, study, examine, research, and probe. Many find delight in the state of not-knowing and looking into the nature of things. Answers can all too often be limiting and a form of entropy; they serve to close off the living questions that lead to ongoing discovery. One of my first photography teachers gave us a few powerful words of wisdom.
