Mermaid Jewelry Box
As the saying goes, one person’s trash is another person’s treasure. When you go to thrift stores, there is an abundance of solid wood jewelry armoires to choose from. Most of them are 1970s and ’80s brown, but they’re generally solid wood and easy to prep. You can use a stripper to remove the existing finish. Sandpaper or even a soda blaster can reveal some expensive, exotic woods for pennies.
In this project, I will show you how to take this elaborate elm wood jewelry armoire and give it a fantasy spin that’s bright, vibrant, and sparkles like a mermaid.
