Getting Ready to Write a Grant Proposal

ALTHOUGH GRANT SEEKING IS a process that is similar in many ways for nonprofit organizations, local government agencies, and individuals, as we worked on this lesson we came to realize that differences can mandate somewhat different kinds of preparation. For example, nonprofits are less likely than government agencies to have unionized employees (though some do). Civil service regulations involve procedural requirements for hiring or transferring staff, whereas nonprofits have greater flexibility.
