Embrace Aphobia

     The surname Pattakos (Παττακός) is derived from two Greek words: patasso (Πατάσσω; meaning to “crush” or “punish”) and kako (κακό; meaning “evil,” “harm,” or “wrong”). The literal translation, “to crush evil,” carries with it very deep meaning and significance, especially when viewed in a historical and political context. We’ve been able to trace the ancestral roots of the Pattakos family as far back as 914 AD, during the Byzantine Empire. Along the way, we also found a long line of family members who had left their indelible marks on and influenced Greek history in extraordinary and heroic ways.
