In Transparency Do We Trust?

As the new consumer increasingly pays for more of his healthcare expenses, he will shop for quality and price when possible. This means that prices for services and procedures need to be transparent for the consumer. As seen in Chapter 4, one reason the retail clinics are popular is because the prices are posted and the consumer knows what he has to pay for the visit in advance.
