Information literacy and social networks

Abstract:

Instruction on information literacy and social networking go together in the modern world of the web. Social media and web searching have changed the way people do their research, and librarians need to adapt their information literacy instruction to recognize and incorporate new research patterns into training. Instruction tools developed using Web 2.0 technology can aid in delivering instruction but they won’t replace personal attention from librarians and staff members who can do the most to reduce library anxiety and encourage library use for lifelong learning.
