INTRODUCTION

In all the time I’ve been around this wonderful, creative industry, working both solely in Photoshop and then as a photographer, I can’t for the life of me think of a picture I’ve worked on when I haven’t made a selection in some form or another—be it to simply target a particular color and change its saturation, or on the other end of the scale, to completely remove or add something in.

I honestly believe that regardless of whether you’re a photographer, a designer, a graphic artist, or whatever, if you work on images or photographs, at some point you’ll very likely need to make a selection. The reason I wanted to write this book was to help with exactly that.
