How do you know if you’ve picked a good company? The first thing you should do is go to the company’s website and download the last three to five years of annual reports. You can find those annual reports in the investor relations section of the company’s website.
Any industry that you do decide to consider should have these key factors:
• Visibility and long-term opportunity
• Strong growth potential and a strong history of growth, year after year
• Predictable earnings—a solid earnings stream over at least 5 to 10 years
