Abstract

Electric vehicles (EVs) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) need to be connected to the utility grid on a regular basis for charging their batteries.

An upcoming area of considerable interest is vehicle-to-grid capability where the stored energy in a parked EV or PHEV is judiciously utilized as a load averaging system.
