Actions of Color

Colors Are More than a Name

Color has great power to affect a viewer emotionally. Think of how Hollywood will create a friendly scene with warm colors and a tense, uneasy scene with the sickly green of fluorescent bulbs. Even if the subject matter were identical in the two pictures, you would feel very differently about the scenes simply because of the color that was there.

There is a core underlying psychology of color throughout the world, which means your use of color affects people everywhere. That is not to say that colors are seen and used the same way by Europeans compared to Asians, for example, but still we seem to be wired to respond to colors in a certain way.
