15One More and Defining Leadership

THE CONCEPT OF LEADERSHIP IS AS OLD AS CIVILIZATION ITSELF, and I doubt there's a personal development topic that's been studied or written about more.
So, what does it mean to be a One More leader?
As I define it, you are a One More leader if you help people do things they would not otherwise accomplish without your presence. If you can't do that as a leader, there's no need for you.
Whether you realize it or not, you're already a leader. At a minimum, you lead yourself. You may also lead your family, employees, teammates, when you practice your religious doctrine, and several other ways.
For our purpose, the question then becomes, “How can I use the concept of One More to become better at leading others?”
There are those who make the case that people are born leaders. That may be so, but I also firmly believe that leadership is a learned trait. Everyone has it within themselves to be an effective leader if they decide to work at it.
To do this, start by taking a closer look at what the elements of leadership are.
