APPENDIX:COLLECTING THE STORIES
The most accurate and efficient way to collect the stories of an organization is through a series of interviews with a random group from the organization. I sometimes call this a Noah’s Ark sort: two of everything. The precise number does not make a lot of difference, and by the time 10 to 15 individuals have been interviewed, the tales have been essentially identified. Additional interviews are more a matter of confirmation and politics. Thus if one continues on through another 10 to 15 interviews and finds no substantial variation in the results, it is a safe bet that the story has been received.
