Controlling Strobe Brightness in the Studio

Studio strobes provide you with two basic ways to increase or decrease the amount of light illuminating photographic subjects in a studio: You can adjust the distance between the flash head and the subject, or you can increase the output of the strobe unit to the maximum of its capacity. This appendix explains the basics of controlling flash output with strobe power pack adjustments. (See Chapter 11 for a detailed explanation of the effect of distance on exposure in light studios).
