South Asia
Abstract:
The South Asian countries of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal each have significant portions of its population living in poverty. These countries are generally less integrated into the global economy than are countries in other regions of the world. The large populations of the region and low average incomes make the region both attractive and challenging for firms to operate in. Case studies of firms originating from the region are analyzed.
