Abstract

This chapter acknowledges that the investigative process involves hard work that is tedious, time-consuming, and, at times, frustrating. The chapter provides information on the common denominator among all investigators, as well as twenty-one qualities that are necessary for a successful investigator to possess, which include: observant, resourceful, patient, people-oriented, receptive, self-starter, skeptical, energetic, logical, intelligent, intuitive, good actor, creatively imaginative, and professional.
