2 Common Problems
In this chapter, we look back into the first Sprints our Scrum Team experienced. Many teams struggle with the change from using a traditional project management approach to an agile way of working. Their struggle is visible in recurring patterns, which we describe in this chapter. These patterns are often expressed as an organization or team claiming that “Scrum doesn’t work.” When we look closer into their specific situations, we find that it is true that Scrum doesn’t work in their context because of various impediments. Fortunately, many of those impediments are solvable, and we describe those solutions.
