My customer was hesitant, even apologetic. ''I probably shouldn't be bothering you with something as trivial as this, but we have a problem and I'd like you to take a look at it.''

Following the consultant's principle that no billing is trivial, I asked him to elaborate.

''We're doing a systems upgrade to one of our servers. We need to apply the new version of the operating system, upgrade the database, and test the application. We've already done this on the test server and there are no problems, but we need to apply the upgrade to the production server and run some final tests before we put the upgraded application into production.''
