The Production/Tech Process

During the weeks of the build, the prop shop is in full production mode finalizing the set props, pulling and finding dressing pieces, and building hand props. Stage management and actors are invited to drop in and see the props they will be using on stage. The designer is often “in house” and available for all the last minute tweaking and decision making. The final coordination between the other shops is completed, and the production calendar breaks down into specific task-oriented goals.
