Granted, the window here is a big, big window.
But it does what all windows do, hopefully—give light. And also hope to the photographer. Window light can’t be generally lumped into one class or type. The sun will do what it does, and windows react accordingly. But there is something about being in a place, especially a place with charisma and character, where the window transforms the light into a fairy tale, warbling it, cropping it, or shaping it so it bounces off a floor or a wall. Outside, in naked, harsh sunlight, you point your lens at a sun-blasted scene and the light that enters the lens fries the coatings on the elements ...
